Masters from the Mikhailovsky

The Savonlinna Opera Festival has been acting host to opera companies from abroad ever since 1987. In 2013, the renowned Mikhailovsky Theatre from St. Petersburg will be performing one of the most popular operas ever composed, Pyotr Tchaikovsky’s Eugene Onegin. Rounding off the Verdi jubilee year will be A Masked Ball directed by Andrejs Zagars and premiered at the Mikhailovsky on July 21, 2010. Both operas will be conducted by Mikhail Tatarnikov.

The Mikhailovsky Theatre is to visit the Savonlinna Opera Festival 
from July 30 to August 3, 2013.
