Accessibility in Olavinlinna Castle
Olavinlinna is a medieval castle where moving can be challenging. We want to guarantee a pleasant opera experience for everyone, so we kindly ask you to book your wheelchair tickets from our office. We also warmly recommend you to contact us in case there are some issues you can’t find an answer from this page.

Wheelchair tickets
There are three wheelchair places in our auditorium which you can book by calling to our office +358 (0) 15 476 750 or by sending an email to Together with your ticket purchase you can book an assistant who will help you to get to your seat. You can get to Tallisaari bridge by taxi and from there it is quick and easy to get to Tallisaari from where our assistant will help you forward. The assistant service is free of charge.

Clients using rollators are warmly welcome to arrive with their aid equipment. In case you need help in some tricky spots of the castle, please don’t hesitate to contact our staff. Please note that all the rollators are collected away during the performances because all the corridors are to be left empty for safety reasons. 

Induction loop and hearing aids
All our performances in Olavinlinna are acoustic so there is no induction loop. It has not been detected that the technology used in Olavinlinna would disturb any hearing aids.

There is an accessible toilet behind the section B in our auditorium, right behind the wheelchair places. There are no other accessible toilets in Olavinlinna.  

Accessible parking
There are two accessible parking spots near Olavinlinna. They are both situated at the Riihisaari parking area. Other parking options can be found here.

Interval refreshments
You can book your interval refreshments in advance from here. The refreshemnts (excluding the alcohol beverages) can be delivered to the auditorium for immobilized customers. Please mention this in your reservation if you need such help. 

Subtitles and language of performance
Operas are performed in their original language. The auditorium has a subtitle facility that may not be fully visible from every seat. The subtitle translations of the sung texts are in Finnish and in English. Please ask for more information from our office in case you hesitate with your choice of seating.

Tickets for personal assistants
All personal assistants attending our performances need their own tickets.
