Elijah launches Opera Festival Choir partnership with the FRS

The Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra and the Savonlinna Opera Festival Choir have entered into a long-term partnership beginning with a performance of the oratorio Elijah by Felix Mendelssohn at the Helsinki Music Centre on March 5. The conductor is the FRSO’s Chief Conductor Hannu Lintu and the soloists are Soile Isokoski, soprano, Karen Cargill, mezzo-soprano, Michael Schade, tenor and Arttu Kataja, baritone.

“The Opera Festival Choir is one of the leading ensembles of its kind in Europe. Its musical ambition and feel for drama are extremely high,” says Hannu Lintu, who is delighted at the new collaboration.
