The Savonlinna Opera Festival and Konecranes – the world leading crane company – have signed a joint marketing agreement in a partnership that will start in January 2018.
Konecranes, which operates in 50 countries and has its head office in Finland, offers a wide range of world-leading lifting and maintenance solutions for clients in the engineering and process industries, shipyards, ports, terminals and others, whilst the Savonlinna Opera Festival is a major international festival and the Finnish cultural event best known abroad.
“We have lots in common: global scope, reliability, a world-wide reputation, excellence and a constant desire to find new, creative solutions”, says SOF General Director Jan Strandholm. “And we both genuinely want the best for our clients. Konecranes lifting businesses, and the Savonlinna Opera Festival provides a unique cultural experience.”
According to Konecranes CEO Panu Routila, it is important for the Finnish industry community, too, to recognise the significance of culture as a key factor of Finland’s brand.
“At Konecranes we want to be involved in promoting the best of the Finnish culture to the world and for our part contribute to the development of cultural offering in Finland. Culture of the highest calibre, such as the Savonlinna Opera Festival, draws international tourists to Finland and is also a fine opportunity to offer outstanding experiences too .”
The Savonlinna Opera Festival launched a novel partnership model in 2014. The core points of this concept entitled “Inspired in Finland” are the development of Finnish know-how, skill and creativity, along with modern intersections between culture and business.
