Singer, the stage of Olavinlinna Castle is calling you! We are now looking for new singers for the choir in summer 2025.
Savonlinna Opera Festival Choir is renowned for its vibrant sound, musical punch, and powerful stage presence. The size of the festival choir varies yearly according to the repertoire. Summer 2025 repertoire here. The standard choir size for a romantic repertoire is 80 singers. The singers are chosen for one year tenures based on auditions. Currently the choir’s rehearsal schedule includes 3 weekend rehearsal workshops in Helsinki. The duration of the festival season in Savonlinna is approximately six weeks, from mid-June to the end of July.
To apply for an audition for the Savonlinna Opera Festival Choir please fill the application form HERE with your current CV and a link to video recording (e.g. a YouTube link) of operatic repertoire on August 18th at the latest.
After a video qualifying the chosen ones will be asked to an audition arranged in Helsinki on Saturday, September 7th and Sunday, September 8th.
