As a protected medieval castle, Olavinlinna Castle has certain accessibility limitations. Please note that moving around the castle can be challenging in places, and the venue is not fully accessible.
To ensure that all guests enjoy a pleasant opera experience, tickets intended for visitors with reduced mobility must be purchased directly through the Opera Festival Office.
There are three wheelchair spaces in the auditorium. If you use a wheelchair, you will need to reserve one of these designated wheelchair spaces through the Opera Festival Ticket Office. We are also proud supporters of the Disability Card scheme. Holders of a Disability Card with an A marking are entitled to bring an assistant or support person free of charge. In other cases, assistants receive a 50% discount on their ticket.
The uneven stone surfaces around the castle may make movement difficult. Rollators are welcome, but for safety reasons they will be stored in a designated rollator parking area during the performance to keep aisles clear.
Access to the castle is via the bridge from Tallisaari. If needed, wheelchair transport can be arranged for this route. Availability is limited on each performance evening, so please enquire when booking your ticket. These transport services are primarily intended for visitors who do not have a personal assistant accompanying them.
Wheelchair transport can be reserved by phone at +358 600 390 131.
