There has been a change in the cast for Don Giovanni and Nabucco. Due to an injury, Henri Uusitalo will not be able to sing the role of Masetto in Don Giovanni, nor the role of the High Priest of Baal in Nabucco. As Masetto, Uusitalo will be replaced by Jussi Merikanto.
Bassbaritone Jussi Merikanto has graduated from Sibelius Academy and sung as a soloist for example in Finnish National Opera, as well as in local operas in Kuopio and Turku and in various music festivals in Finland and worldwide. Along his singing career, Mr. Merikanto has created an impressive career a leader in cultural organizations, such as Organ Night and Aria Festival in Espoo and Joroinen Music Festival in eastern Finland.
Jussi Merikanto will perform as Masetto in Don Giovanni on 13., 17. ja 25.7. In other performances the role will be sung by Kristian Lindroos.
In Nabucco, Henri Uusitalo will be replaced by Stanislav Šeljahhovski, who will sing the role of the High Priest of Baal in all performances.
