Karita Mattila

Grand Festive Gala

Due to the pandemic situation and the uncertainties around large events, we must unfortunately give up on this gala.

If you have tickets, don’t worry. You can now move your tickets and make a reservation for the performance of your choice in summer 2022. Read more here

Instead of the gala performances, Karita Mattila will sing in new concerts, in which she is accompanied by a pianist at Kerimäki Church. Ticket sales will start later. Information about the concerts

She’s never indifferent, never nondescript, always electrifying. La Karita is celebrating with a grand festive gala, accompanied by the Opera Festival Orchestra and conductor Hannu Lintu. This event is the talk of the summer.

The gala concert programme includes arias from Karita Mattila’s favourite roles, such as Ariadne, Elisabeth from Tannhäuser and her latest love, Isolde.

It’s been nearly 40 years since she won the Lappeenranta Singing Competition and BBC Cardiff Singer of the World competition, and her iconic career continues as strong as ever. The radiance of this opera prima donna is impossible to match – there is only one Karita Mattila.
