Carmen is the embodiment of wildness: she is fierce, untamed and takes orders from no one. The production is a guest performance by the Estonian National Opera. There is cause for celebration, as exactly 40 years ago the Estonia Theatre was the Opera Festival’s first international guest.

The 34th Timo Mustakallio Singing Competition highlights talents of the future. The winner is not necessarily the most highly developed participant, but rather a singer with exceptional vocal talent and special interpretative skills.
